My Approach to Treating Eating Disorders, Anxiety & OCD
I provide a warm, compassionate approach to therapy. My therapy style is interactive. I believe in listening to my clients, while also helping them take concrete steps to improve their relationships to food, their bodies, and themselves.
I offer individual therapy for adults, college students, teens, and kids ages 7+. I also see parents of younger children. In addition, I offer couples therapy and family therapy to help lessen conflict and improve relationships.
I tailor my approach for each client, as client needs can vary. However, when appropriate, I particularly enjoy using elements of the following evidence-based treatments for eating disorders, anxiety or mood disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD):
I also work from a Health At Every Size (HAES) approach. Health At Every Size considers social influences on health, recognizes body diversity, and promotes taking compassionate, respectful care of oneself at any body size.
In therapy, I use a holistic approach to treatment, and I believe that it's helpful to work as a team, i.e., with a doctor, dietitian, psychiatrist, etc., depending on the client's needs. If you do not already have a team and would benefit from this, I can work with you to help you establish one.
I love doing this work! I feel grateful to be able to help clients to find freedom from eating disorders, anxiety, and OCD.
If you're ready to take the first step towards healing, please reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me so we can discuss how I can help.
*I am taking on a limited number of new therapy clients. If spots are full, I am happy to refer you to another clinician or put you on a wait-list.

- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) - to help identify and change self-defeating thought and behavior patterns
- Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) - to help increase present moment awareness while practicing skills to regulate emotions and improve communication in relationships
- Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) - which supports individuals in gradually approaching safe situations or activities they've avoided due to fear, without the use of compulsive safety behaviors
- Family-Based Treatment (FBT-informed therapy) - to help guide and empower families in providing effective support for a loved one with an eating disorder
